Hello there again! It is bitter cold in Northcentral Wisconsin and snow on the way. Such is our winter life in our beautiful state. Today I'm posting our stamp club sketch challenge for February. I typically don't use pastel colors but I had this card stock - So Punny by Doodlebug Designs - in my Valentine stash and then thought of one of my granddaughter's summer birthdays and think this is perfect!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The birthday die set is from Poppy Stamps. The card is pretty self-explanatory. I used yellow card stock as my A2 base. Stay safe and warm wherever you are!</div>

<span style="font-size: large;">Many, many months of no blogging! Thanks, <a href="https://pschulzpaperart.wordpress.com/">Pat Schulz</a>, for urging me to get back to blogging. I would also like to build my viewer base so please feel free to share my blog link with any friends who may be interested in viewing my handmade cards.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">It's my turn to bring one of two shoe boxes to a monthly stamp club which I belong to.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">All three dies - balloon, "love" word and deckled rectangle are Penny Black. I started with watercolor paper and sprinkled two difference reds and yellow Color Burst and then spritzed with water. (Pearlescent water would have been pretty, too). I then cut the watercolor paper with the balloon die. The white deckled card layer was sponged with Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink using a smaller deckled die cut as a template. The K & Company little sticker hearts are from my stash and may no longer be available.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Thanks for taking a look at my recent creation and will be posting more very soon!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Another birthday card for another friend's birthday! Between family and friends, late March and April is birthday time here! <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">I began by stamping onto watercolor paper, the Stampin Up cheesecloth background stamp in versamark ink and then embossing in gold embossing powder. Heather Telford shared this technique on her blog.</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">I then came back with various colors of color burst and spritzed with water until I achieved results that I liked. I mounted the watercolor paper onto coordinating cardstock and then onto a white card base. The sentiment is cut three times from matching cardstock and glued together so it has a raised appearance. The sentiment is from Elizabeth Crafts.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I created this special birthday card for my friend, Karen. I will also be sharing this birthday card over at <a href="http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/">Simon Says Wednesday challenge since they are celebrating their 9th birthday.</a></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">This is a Stampin' Up die (set of three) which I cut from silver card stock. The sparkly does not show up at all on the photo! </span></div>

<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">The inside piece is Yupo paper on which I dropped various blue alcohol inks along with silver alcohol ink and let it swirl and work its magic on the plastic "paper". The die is from <span style="background-color: white;">Creative Expressions</span> and also cut from silver card stock. One of my favorite mediums is alcohol inks. There are so many different techniques to play with this awesome ink!</span></div>

I created this card for my friend Pat's Valentine's birthday! I will also be sharing this over at <a href="http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/?p=11580">Simon Says Monday challenge - Grunge it Up!</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhF11YD9m2qLVR_yHt7CcSTdBsIAFt3sAD82fYVd78tbTZLOzbcZuSewirgcTGgJg18S_5BNjG3mUSbWQ-3ZzwxNcE0R8YBbg3xevLOd7FyY0_ui3NxOQe6P8hMiw0yhS0WKp1y_zH-3pw/s1600/IMG_0805-1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1138" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhF11YD9m2qLVR_yHt7CcSTdBsIAFt3sAD82fYVd78tbTZLOzbcZuSewirgcTGgJg18S_5BNjG3mUSbWQ-3ZzwxNcE0R8YBbg3xevLOd7FyY0_ui3NxOQe6P8hMiw0yhS0WKp1y_zH-3pw/s400/IMG_0805-1.JPG" width="283" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Pat and I Gelli printed together recently and I created this background. I layered the print onto a black card base after grunging up the sides. I stitched the cloth panel and adhered to the print. I colored one of Tim Holtz's paper dolls with Distress markers and adhered to the card.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The heart was a piece I recently created in a class I taught at the <a href="https://www.paper-boutique.com/">The Paper Boutique</a> in Springfield, Il. The technique is from Stampendous using chipboard pieces, UTEE, and various colors of enamels from Stampendous. The heart was stamped with a flourish image while still very warm and then adhered to the cloth panel.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Hope you had an awesome birthday, Pat!</div>

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">This is my interpretation of the sketch I provided for our stamp club this month. I <span style="background-color: white;">typically deviate from the plan and so I did!</span></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I will also be sharing this card over at <a href="http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/simon-says-must-love/">Simon Says Wednesday challenge "It Must Be Love"</a>.</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">There really isn't any special technique involved in this card but I did use new dies from Memory Box and new paper from Authentique. Have a wonderful Valentine's Day!</span></div>

Wow....haven't posted on my blog for two months! Guess I've been a tad busy with the holidays which are special family times for us. I created this card for our January stamp club challenge which was this sketch along with snowflakes. I'll also be sharing this card over at <a href="http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/?p=11310">Simon Says Monday Challenge - Winter Blues.</a></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I started with water color paper and stamped Tim Holtz's new snowflake stamps in versamark and then used white embossing powder to heat set. I then sponged distress oxide inks in blues and purples and then spritzed with shimmer mist. The beautiful shimmer does not show up at all on the photo! I trimmed this piece down to the four pieces as shown above and adhered to white card stock and then mounted to a blue card base.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The sentiment is a die from Quietfire Designs and I cut three from water color paper and glued together to add dimension. On the top I used Nuvo crystal drops in white and added the blue sequin. This was a fun sketch.</div>

My photo doesn't do this card justice! It is very sparkly in person. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzRD_k48nIzYRcmBU2qbBNrjG9HICv8v8EdYkKDIwsDoUrc1XgaXomF6i0gdfeaim9J2upSlMPT_MWxyKtW4kuZyd7j_XNYXjPqK7QJpFdV9rmXJrRW7qvCJ2RDfm-QexMfCXa990E6tc/s1600/IMG_0788-1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1314" data-original-width="1600" height="327" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzRD_k48nIzYRcmBU2qbBNrjG9HICv8v8EdYkKDIwsDoUrc1XgaXomF6i0gdfeaim9J2upSlMPT_MWxyKtW4kuZyd7j_XNYXjPqK7QJpFdV9rmXJrRW7qvCJ2RDfm-QexMfCXa990E6tc/s400/IMG_0788-1.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The pumpkin is a metal stencil from Dreamweavers. I used their copper embossing paste over the stencil and then removed the stencil. Be sure to place the stencil immediately in water so the paste doesn't dry. I then sprinkled copper embossing powder over the wet paste and heat with a heat tool. The paste will bubble which in this case was the look I was going for. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The sentiment is from Close to My Heart and the designer paper is from Prima. All was layered onto shimmery copper card stock. The copper leaf in the corner is a brad.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I will be entering this card at <a href="http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/?p=10487">Simon Says Monday challenge.</a> I made several variations of this card using this stencil and copper paste. I added gold glitter shards, champagne embossing powder and orange embossing powder.</div>

The designer paper is new from Bo Bunny. The fox and sentiment stamps are also new from Hero Arts and is a clear stamp set including a smaller fox and additional sentiments. If you buy the set as a kit, you also receive the inks and matching dies. The oval die cut is from Gina Marie.</div>

<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">This Halloween card is pretty much all things Tim Holtz! Friends and I got together a few months ago and created several backgrounds with brushos, color burst, nuance and bisters. This background is created with bisters using a mask for the moon and then coming back and filling in the moon with yellow distress ink.</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I've had too much fun creating these bridge cards for my grandchildren. I have so many Halloween dies and these cards are a great way to use them. The various dies are from Tim Holtz, Spellbinders, Karen Burniston, and Little B. The base card stock happens to be my favorite this fall from Gina K called Tomato Soup😉 The designer paper is vintage from Basic Grey. The sign on the bottom of the haunted house says "Funeral Warehouse" and is from Tim Holtz's Ideaology collection of sticker sayings. Love, Love 'em! I'll be posting a few more Halloween cards over the next few days since Halloween is almost here....and it is my favorite holiday!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Halloween is my favorite holiday to craft! I will be posting this card over at <a href="http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/?p=10481">Simon Says Monday Challenge - Monochromatic.</a> This was a fun card to create with mostly Stampendous products along with distress inks and copics.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">The stamp is from Stampendous and stamped in black Memento ink onto gray card stock. I then colored the image in blue-violet copics. The edges were distressed and then inked with distress ink. The corners were created with Stampendous's melt art using their ultra thick embossing powders and glitters in black and blue. The bat metal piece is from Tim Holtz's ideology line with black glitter paper glued behind it.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Another bridge card to post. I love all things Tim Holtz so I am submitting this card to <a href="http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/?p=10389">Simon Says Monday Challenge since they are featuring Tim Holtz Halloween.</a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
See my previous post for dimensions. The designer paper is vintage from Basic Grey. Dies are from Tim Holtz Trick or Treat set, Haunted House set, and Ideology Halloween Clippings. The "bridge" haunted house is from Memory Box and the trees from Karen Burniston.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I have had tons of fun making several "bridge cards" for my grand kids. The overall piece measures 5-1/4" x 9-1/4" and will fit into an A7 envelope when folded flat. My friend, <a href="http://karenskreativekards.blogspot.com/2017/08/spooktacular-new-fun-fold.html">Karen</a>, also posted a bridge card (and she may have detailed info listed in her post) and her bridge card will fit into an A2 envelope. I will also be sharing this card over at <a href="http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/simon-says-pop/">Simon Says Wednesday challenge.</a></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-MdvvkIM08FHAvI0Ct7cl9bcoHH_2HtHiDLVq6jB4AJl-Yyv0MD4jai_p2dUpm5JmrScVcwI5OZQ7Wcjt2wPraJmztIGYFA5oa5eH1X8dI2k5sOgNl8NfoJodvVse449rWQJfjDdi5SM/s1600/IMG_0761-1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1193" data-original-width="1600" height="297" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-MdvvkIM08FHAvI0Ct7cl9bcoHH_2HtHiDLVq6jB4AJl-Yyv0MD4jai_p2dUpm5JmrScVcwI5OZQ7Wcjt2wPraJmztIGYFA5oa5eH1X8dI2k5sOgNl8NfoJodvVse449rWQJfjDdi5SM/s400/IMG_0761-1.JPG" width="400" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">The base card is black and the designer paper is from Authentique's 2017 Halloween collection. The tree die is from Karen Burniston's Halloween 2017 die collection. The ghost and graveyard dies are from Tim Holtz (Sizzix) 2017 collection and the fence die is vintage from Spellbinders. The pumpkins are washi tape from Little B. Oh....and can't forget the type words from Tim's Ideology Halloween collection!</span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzPfB4mflBp5IEFQymaSpCdYCioZVBm7GYWHeHh_o-AaWcsjTARqbBh-HYmHDuKvWuUr_F0mkW_ltTpJ-n18dKUSJGUwb3PfLaftbp6wMqiEEqzipTk2sgvNbXggTQVmNOeegpTgGhhK0/s1600/IMG_0762-2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1321" data-original-width="1600" height="330" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgzPfB4mflBp5IEFQymaSpCdYCioZVBm7GYWHeHh_o-AaWcsjTARqbBh-HYmHDuKvWuUr_F0mkW_ltTpJ-n18dKUSJGUwb3PfLaftbp6wMqiEEqzipTk2sgvNbXggTQVmNOeegpTgGhhK0/s400/IMG_0762-2.JPG" width="400" /></span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">As you can somewhat see from this angle, the card will fold flat. What a great way to use all those dies we collect! And forgot the bats! Smaller bats are from Tim Holtz's Haunted House and the larger bat from Karen Burniston. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">More bridge cards to follow.....</span></div>

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Friends and I recently got together and created images with Bisters, Brushos and Color Burst. Our friend, Gail, is a watercolor expert so I really appreciated her input! I'm also submitting this card at <a href="http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/simon-says-add-sentiment/">Simon Says Wednesday challenge.</a></span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">On watercolor paper, I stamped the flower stamp from Dare 2B Artzy with Versamark ink and white embossing powder and heat set. I then watercolored the image and around the image with Color Burst. I also over-stamped the watercolor piece with an unknown source word stamp in Versamark ink and white embossing powder. The sentiment is hard to to read but it is the stem of the flower and reads "shine with all your color"! I added a few sequins and layered onto coordinating cardstock.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">Friends and I recently got together to spend the day creating with Gelli prints. Haven't worked with my Gelli plate in a long time! Had fun experimenting with paints and inks and everything in-between! I will be submitting this card to <a href="http://craftstamper.blogspot.com/2017/08/take-it-make-it-challenge-august.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+CraftStamperMagazine+%28Craft+Stamper+Magazine%29">the August challenge at Craft Stamper Magazine.</a></span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">The Gelli print was created using various colors of acrylic paints on old printed book pages. Once dry, I then came back with a stencil from Simon Says Stamps (hearts) and sponged with Nuvo Mousse. In black ink, I then stamped the butterfly and sentiment images from Visual Images. The flower stamp is from Lavinia Stamps.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Recently, I spent the day creating with a friend and one of the techniques she talked about was called serendipity which she read about in the current issue of <i>Cardmaker</i> magazine.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">We took various designer papers and tore them into pieces and adhered to cardstock. To soften the white core of the designer paper, I distressed with antique linen ink. The butterfly die is from Memory Box. I really like the concept but think this is a little drab. Will have to try with other papers</span>.</div>

<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">I created this mermaid card for our granddaughter's birthday and I will also submit it to the weekly <a href="http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/">Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes.</a></span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Times, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">The mermaid stamp is from Recollections which I gold embossed and colored with distress markers. The background was made with distress oxides (aren't they the bomb!) and the oval die cut is from Gina Marie. The new "mermaid" sequins are from Pretty Pink Posh. The sentiment and seahorse stamps are from Hero Arts. This card turned out a little too monochromatic for me but my granddaughter will love that it's a shaker card!</span></div>

I taped Dyan Reaveley's wave stencil onto water color paper. I then sponged fossalized amber, cracked pistachio and broken china oxide inks over the stencil. Remove the stencil and spritz with water. I then added Nuvo glue pen to the white left behind and sprinkled with white glitter and then sprayed with a fixative. I've recently developed a love for all things relating to the sea and will post more soon:)</div>

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">This is this month's sketch for our stamp club. I used some new designer paper, a new Stampin' Up die and foiling.</span></div>

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">The sentiment is from Quietfire Designs. I die cut the dragonfly and sentiment from toner paper and then laminated with pink foil. Very simple card but used some new things sitting on my desk and that makes me happy.</span></div>
