October Stamp Club Sketch Challenge

Here is my take on the sketch challenge for our stamp club meeting next month. The image is from Penny Black called Japanese Maple and is stamped on canvas with Vintage Sepia Versafine ink. The designer paper is from Memory Box's collections Nightfall and Twilight.  The beige paper is Crumb Cake from Stampin' Up and the buttons are vintage.  After my mother passed away, my daughter and daughter-in-law went through her button stash and divided the buttons among ourselves.  The sentiment is unknown (no name on the wood mounted image) and don't remember where I bought it.  This card seems somewhat somber instead of fall-like but I'm pleased with the results of the sketch challenge.

We're off to Milwaukee this Sunday for a Brewer baseball play-off game.  GO BREWERS!

Autumn Wishes

Now that it is officially autumn, I can post this card I created recently. The background image is from Stampin' Place and stamped with Kaleidacolor's Creole Spice.  The background image was covered with double-sided adhesive and sprinkled with Crystal Glitter Ritz Warm Highlight.  The oak leaf is a Spellbinder die which was embossed and sponged with various colors of the Creole Spice ink pad.  The maple leaf is a McGill punch and the sentiment is from Endless Creations.  All images were distressed with Scattered Straw and Vintage Photo distress inks.  Added the acorn charm and the copper cording and gold ribbon.  Love making fall cards!

Stamp Club Challenges for Sept.

It was my turn to provide the stamp club challenges for this month. The first challenge was a purse stamp from Me and Carrie Lou which is no longer in business. I embossed the purse with gold embossing powder. The flower images are from Fiskars' Asian Inspired stamp set and colored with Copics. I cut each individual flower and adhered to the purse.

I added gold seam tape for the handle.

The insert was die cut with Memory Box's new pocket die. Once again, I stamped and gold embossed the same Fiskars' images and colored with markers on vellum. The sentiment was cut from the Labels Four Small set from Spellbinders and the sentiment is from Flourishes.
The sketch I provided is from Verve which appeared on their blog in April. The designer paper is new from Authentique. The image is from Flourishes called Zinnias and colored with Copics and is one of my favorite new stamp sets! I die cut the main image with Labels 10 from Spellbinders and distressed the edges with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. The dark gray cardstock is embossed with the Swiss dots folder from Cuttlebug and the edge punched with an EK Success punch. The butterflies were punched from some of the designer paper with a Martha Stewart butterfly punch and added pearls to the bodies. Added some ivory lace to offset the punched edge.
