Happy Birthday, Friend!

My friend, Karen, recently celebrated her birthday and I created this card for her.  She designs for Tonic so thought she'd appreciate this card using Nuvo mousse.  I will also be sharing this birthday card at Simon Says Wednesday Birthday Challenge.

Using a stencil, I started with the cream-colored mousse on the top, then the gold mousse in the middle, ending with the copper mousse.  The card is otherwise pretty straight-forward layering this panel on gold card stock from Tim Holtz and then onto a 5x7 white card base.  The flower is from Prima and added some beautiful gold thread that I collected some years ago.  The friend sentiment die is cut from the same gold card stock and is from Quietfire Designs.

Spring Birds

I created this triptych panel for a friend's birthday and will be entering it in the Take It Make It April Challenge at Craft Stamper Magazine.

The chipboard panels, wood pieces and some of the ephemera is from REDlead Paperworks.  The remainder of the ephemera is from my stash.  Each panel was covered with various designer papers and edged with distress inks (broken china and vintage photo). The wood panels are stained with broken china distress stain.  The fern stamp on the right is vintage from Hero Arts and stamped in vintage photo distress ink on both the wood panel and the chipboard panel.  The stencil in the center panel is from Tim Holtz and stenciled in broken china distress ink.  The panels were tied together with dyed silk ribbon and yarn.

This was a fun piece to create!
