I'm Really a Mermaid!

I'm entering this card in the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge.  The challenge this week is to use patterned paper.  The mermaid patterned paper is from Graphic 45's Voyage Beneath the Sea.  The die is from Hero Arts.

Using copics, I colored the edges of the die cut and added clear wink of stella to the fish and the mermaid's tail which does not show up in the photo:(  This would make an awesome shaker card!  Next time!

Splish....Splash!

I'm loving these new Penny Black fishy dies!  I'm entering this card in this week's Simon Says Monday challenge.

I taped Dyan Reaveley's wave stencil onto water color paper.  I then sponged fossalized amber, cracked pistachio and broken china oxide inks over the stencil.  Remove the stencil and spritz with water.  I then added Nuvo glue pen to the white left behind and sprinkled with white glitter and then sprayed with a fixative.  I've recently developed a love for all things relating to the sea and will post more soon:)

Sketch Challenge for June Stamp Club

This is this month's sketch for our stamp club.  I used some new designer paper, a new Stampin' Up die and foiling.

The sentiment is from Quietfire Designs.  I die cut the dragonfly and sentiment from toner paper and then laminated with pink foil.  Very simple card but used some new things sitting on my desk and that makes me happy.

Oxide Inks...Again

Here's another card from our shoe box event.  With this oxide ink technique, I "squished" (technical term;) worn lipstick, spiced marmalade and fired brick onto a craft mat and spritzed with water and dipped water color paper through the inks.  I repeated this process another time to achieve the coverage below.

I then took a Crafters Workshop stencil and stenciled gold Nuvo Mousse onto the inked water color paper.  The butterfly is a die from Tim Holtz (Sizzix) along with the new gold foil paper also from TH.  I layered this onto a peach card base.

I kept both of my cards more on the easy side because we had inexperienced stampers at the shoe box event but I wanted to use the new oxide inks along with a couple of different techniques.  I love the properties of these new inks!  Supposedly new colors to be released later this year???

Oxide Inks Mean Happiness!

Let's Create held a shoe box event for 24 of us avid stampers in late April.  Thanks Franki!  It was a fun time!  This is one of the cards I created using Ranger's Oxide Inks, Tim Holtz's Paper Dolls and Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz stamp set called Urban Tapestry.  Can you tell I'm a huge fan of Tim Holtz😉

I started with Crumb Cake card stock from Stampin' Up and applied fossalized amber, wilted violet and faded jeans oxide inks with an ink blending tool and then spritzed with water.  I stamped the corners with portions of this stamp in brown ink.  I colored the paper dolls with distress markers and mounted the image with foam tape.  The "words" are also from Tim Holtz's Ideology line.  Love, love, love them.  This was also distressed with brown ink.  I layered this onto a dark purple card.

Mon Amour with Graphic 45 and Tonic

A few months ago, a few of us stampers got together to play with stencils and various products.  Had tons of fun creating!  This tall card was created with Nuvo products and Graphic 45 Mon Amour paper.

The stencil is from Tonic and called Sunray Scallop.  I placed the stencil on white card stock and sponged pink Nuvo Mousse over the stencil.  I then followed up with Nuvo Clear Glimmer Paste.  (Be sure to wash stencil immediately after using glimmer paste.)  Then let the panel dry.  I sponged Antique Linen Distress Ink around the edge of this panel.

The background paper and the fussy cut lady is from Graphic 45 Mon Amour's collection.  I layered all pieces onto black card stock.  My sister will be the lucky recipient of this card for her upcoming birthday:)
