Happy Valentine's Day!

This is my interpretation of the sketch I provided for our stamp club this month.  I typically deviate from the plan and so I did!

I will also be sharing this card over at Simon Says Wednesday challenge "It Must Be Love".

There really isn't any special technique involved in this card but I did use new dies from Memory Box and new paper from Authentique.  Have a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Love is in the Air

I've been having some fun crafting Valentine's cards.  This is my shoe box for stamp club this month and I will also be sharing it over at Simon Says Monday Challenge.

The photo doesn't even begin to do this card justice!  How in the world do you take photos of foil cards?!  The card fold is called double dutch door.  I used the new Gina K heart foilables and foiled in gold.  The love die is from Impression Obsession.  Hope the gals like it Tuesday at club.

Cold Winter Days

Wow....haven't posted on my blog for two months!  Guess I've been a tad busy with the holidays which are special family times for us.  I created this card for our January stamp club challenge which was this sketch along with snowflakes.  I'll also be sharing this card over at Simon Says Monday Challenge - Winter Blues.

I started with water color paper and stamped Tim Holtz's new snowflake stamps in versamark and then used white embossing powder to heat set.  I then sponged distress oxide inks in blues and purples and then spritzed with shimmer mist.  The beautiful shimmer does not show up at all on the photo!  I trimmed this piece down to the four pieces as shown above and adhered to white card stock and then mounted to a blue card base.

The sentiment is a die from Quietfire Designs and I cut three from water color paper and glued together to add dimension.  On the top I used Nuvo crystal drops in white and added the blue sequin.  This was a fun sketch.

Thanksgiving Gratitude

My photo doesn't do this card justice!  It is very sparkly in person.  

The pumpkin is a metal stencil from Dreamweavers.  I used their copper embossing paste over the stencil and then removed the stencil.  Be sure to place the stencil immediately in water so the paste doesn't dry.  I then sprinkled copper embossing powder over the wet paste and heat with a heat tool.  The paste will bubble which in this case was the look I was going for.  

The sentiment is from Close to My Heart and the designer paper is from Prima.  All was layered onto shimmery copper card stock.  The copper leaf in the corner is a brad.

I will be entering this card at Simon Says Monday challenge.  I made several variations of this card using this stencil and copper paste.  I added gold glitter shards, champagne embossing powder and orange embossing powder.

Foxy Fall

Switching gears here from Halloween to autumn cards.  I'm following a sketch provided by one of our stamp club members for November.  I will also be sharing this card over at Simon Says Monday Challenge - All Creatures Great and Small.

The designer paper is new from Bo Bunny.  The fox and sentiment stamps are also new from Hero Arts and is a clear stamp set including a smaller fox and additional sentiments.  If you buy the set as a kit, you also receive the inks and matching dies.  The oval die cut is from Gina Marie.

Halloween Owl

This Halloween card is pretty much all things Tim Holtz!  Friends and I got together a few months ago and created several backgrounds with brushos, color burst, nuance and bisters.  This background is created with bisters using a mask for the moon and then coming back and filling in the moon with yellow distress ink.

The tree die cut is from Tim Holtz/Sizzix and distressed with various distress inks.  The owl and bat disk are from Tim's Ideology line.  I will also be sharing this card at Simon Says Wednesday Challenge.
