Stamp Club Challenges for Sept.

It was my turn to provide the stamp club challenges for this month. The first challenge was a purse stamp from Me and Carrie Lou which is no longer in business. I embossed the purse with gold embossing powder. The flower images are from Fiskars' Asian Inspired stamp set and colored with Copics. I cut each individual flower and adhered to the purse.

I added gold seam tape for the handle.

The insert was die cut with Memory Box's new pocket die. Once again, I stamped and gold embossed the same Fiskars' images and colored with markers on vellum. The sentiment was cut from the Labels Four Small set from Spellbinders and the sentiment is from Flourishes.
The sketch I provided is from Verve which appeared on their blog in April. The designer paper is new from Authentique. The image is from Flourishes called Zinnias and colored with Copics and is one of my favorite new stamp sets! I die cut the main image with Labels 10 from Spellbinders and distressed the edges with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. The dark gray cardstock is embossed with the Swiss dots folder from Cuttlebug and the edge punched with an EK Success punch. The butterflies were punched from some of the designer paper with a Martha Stewart butterfly punch and added pearls to the bodies. Added some ivory lace to offset the punched edge.

CR84FN Color Challenge 35

I'm playing along with CR84FN's color challenge this week. This challenge site is one of my favorites! The color combos this week are Lavender, Celery and Gray.

Here is my interpretation of these color combos. The image is from Hero Arts and is called Zinnia Trio. I colored the image with Copics and mounted on lavender cardstock which has been die cut with Spellbinder's Fleur de Lis Rectangle. The designer paper is Wisteria from Basic Gray.

Remember Art Lenz?

I recently cleaned my stamp room and came across this Art Lenz image I had made in a class several years ago but never completed into a card. I mounted the image on SU paper to coordinate with their dp. The die cut is one of the new Spellbinder label dies. The sentiment is from TAC.

Stamp Club Cards

Feels so good to be back in my stamp room to stamp instead of sorting and cleaning! Though it's fun finding cool stuff you've put away and haven't used yet! Here are two cards I created for our August stamp club.

The card was created using a provided sketch. The stamps are new from Flourishes called Zinnias. I always planted zinnias in my garden at our other home. The white cardstock is mounted on a folded black card and embossed with a Cuttlebug folder. The zinnias were colored with Copics, trimmed and mounted on a strip of new glitter paper I recently purchased at JoAnn's. The sentiment was die cut with Spellbinder's Nestabilities squares and also mounted on black glitter paper.

Our other challenge was to create a card in a shape other than rectangular or square. I recently purchased these round pre-cut cards at The Paper Cut. I distressed all the edges with Antique Linen Distress ink. The dp is from Webster's Pages as is the bird. The sentiment is from TPC. Added a bit of glitter to the flowers which doesn't show up well in the photo.

Our entire family was here for the week of the 4th and we had a fun time! Here we are getting ready for fun in and on the water.

Beach time

A couple of nature pix

My second most favorite hobby is bird watching. Here's a Great Crested Flycatcher attempting to build a nest in a nesting box my husband put up for them this spring. They are beautiful birds from the side or front view with a crest and pale yellow breasts. They are about the size of a Blue Jay.

And here's our bird feeder sneak thief - in the day time no less! He (she) has also been pillaging my oriole feeder of all its grape jelly, too! Grrr! Have to take the good with the bad I guess when you're feeding all the critters in the yard.

June's Stamp Club Sketch Challenge

Here's my take on this month's sketch challenge for our stamp club. The new paper is Valise from Memory Box. The crocheted circle is from Webster's Pages and the stamped image is from Endless Creations.
